Scuba divers, snorkelers, and bubble watchers are welcome on our Tiger Shark trip. You do not need a scuba certification to join as a snorkeler.
All guests must attend required briefings and allow time for gear setup before the boat departs at 6:30 a.m. sharp.
Pricing differs by participation type. Choose the option that matches how you plan to join when booking through FareHarbor.

- Our crew goes above and beyond to find shark activity on every trip that runs.
- This is the open ocean. Tiger sharks—or any sharks—can’t be guaranteed on every dive.
Your reservation is for the guided shark experience, not a guaranteed sighting. If the trip runs as scheduled, the absence of sharks alone does not qualify for a refund. Please review the full booking terms before reserving your spot.

Required. Not optional.
Check availabilityScuba divers: please confirm you meet these requirements before booking. Do not arrive without the required equipment or nitrox certification. Scuba gear is not included in your trip price. All equipment needed for the dive is available to rent at an additional cost. Add and pay for rentals during your FareHarbor booking, or call (561) 467-5523 before your trip so we can add them to your reservation and confirm sizes.
Joining as a snorkeler? Snorkeling gear is included in your price. Please call (561) 467-5523 before your trip to provide your gear sizes so we can have everything ready for you.

Nitrox certification
Mandatory for all divers. Both dives require nitrox. If you are not nitrox certified and have no place to complete your certification, you can get certified through us. Please call 561-467-5523 before your dives, allowing enough time to complete your certification.

Required gear
Mandatory for every diver:
- Full-length wetsuit—no shorty wetsuits.
- Gloves and a hat, hood, or cap.
- Dark-colored gear only. No white, yellow, pink, orange, or bright neon or fluorescent colors.
- BCD and regulator.
- Dive computer set to your nitrox mix.
- Your own surface marker buoy (SMB)—every diver must have one.
02 / Scuba experience & confidence
Is this dive right for you?
- Experience and confidence matter. This dive is for experienced, confident scuba divers—not beginners. Advanced Open Water certification is not required, but you should be comfortable managing your buoyancy, equipment, and scuba skills independently. Your hands-on experience matters more than your certification level.
- Confidence in currents. Previous drift-diving experience and an understanding of how to respond to changing currents are important.
- Confidence in your scuba skills. You should feel completely confident in your scuba diving skills so you can focus on your position in the water, the sharks around you, and following the safety instructions provided by the crew during the briefing—without struggling with the act of scuba diving.
03 / Briefings & safety
Safety comes first.
- Preparation starts on land. The day begins with a grass briefing, where we practice the formations you’ll use underwater. Everyone must be present before the briefing begins. Pay close attention—understanding your position and the crew’s instructions is essential.
- Stay in your assigned position, outside the chum zone. This is a drift dive, with multiple tiger sharks potentially present. Throughout the dive, remain where the crew directs you and follow all positioning and movement instructions. These instructions protect you and the divers around you.
- Zero tolerance for repeatedly disregarding safety instructions. Divers who require constant correction put their own safety—and potentially another diver’s safety—at risk. The crew may deny entry to the water, end your dive, or prevent you from joining the second dive.
- Crew decisions are final. These expectations apply to everyone, regardless of experience or certification level.
04 / Scuba private-guide assessment
Private-guide options.
- 25 logged dives or fewer? Call before booking. Plan on needing a private guide—even if you have been certified for years. Our staff will assess your experience and confirm whether a guide is required.
- Haven’t dived in a long time or feel rusty? Call before booking, especially if you have limited diving experience. We’ll discuss your recent diving, skills, and confidence to determine whether this trip is suitable and whether you need a private guide.
- Arrange your guide before booking. A private guide costs extra. Call 561-467-5523 for your assessment and guide options. Our goal is to address gaps in experience or recent practice before you enter the water.
