Photographer & shark identification guide author
Josh Schellenberg is a Florida-based underwater photographer specializing in apex predators, particularly sharks. After becoming scuba certified in 2015, he began shark diving the following year and quickly became fascinated by shark behavior and individual identification.
Through thousands of shark encounters, Josh developed a keen eye for recognizing individual sharks by their unique markings, scars, deformities, and behaviors. His passion for understanding these animals has led him to document the lives of many of Jupiter’s most recognizable sharks, helping divers see them not as anonymous predators, but as individuals with their own stories.

Follow the
familiar faces.
Explore named and unnamed tiger sharks recorded on each logged day. Filter by shark, time window, water temperature, lemon-shark count, and—when new logs include it—sharks seen on the drift.
To check one named shark on the drift, choose its name under Shark, then choose “Selected shark seen on drift.” Older logs without a drift field are unavailable, not “no sharks seen.”
Recorded activity
Each bar is one logged day: named sharks plus the minimum number of unnamed sharks. A range below the bar means some unnamed sharks may have appeared on multiple dives. Select a bar for dive-by-dive details.
Named tigers Unnamed tigers (minimum)
Unless the crew confirms the distinct total, daily unnamed counts range from the largest dive count to all dive counts added together. The sheets alone cannot show whether an unnamed shark returned on another dive. Blank fields and unlogged dates are not zero-sighting days.
